King Zar glanced over Darks shoulder just to make sure the creature had left. She grabbed her crown and slowly crawled over the back of the sofa and sat, nervously and a bit fidgety. She kept spinning the crown around in her hands and looking around as if expecting the creature to show back up.
" I don't mean to be rude of any kind Blackie. I just can help it. Really am sorry if I offended anyone. "

He shook his head and allowed one of his fangy smirk-smiles, and just patted Zar on the head gently. "Don't worry about it. I just didn't expect you to be afraid. You seem to like small animals." From her reactions to small creatures up until just a few moments ago, he assumed that she'd be fine with other small creatures. That could be considered his mistake.
Suddenly he stood up, moving to fetch their meal. She was hungry, after all, and even temporary fear wouldn't change that fact. He took his place again, sitting their tea and sandwiches down on the coffee table. "You really ought to eat after that. Looks like it may have taken some energy to crawl out of your seat." Just good natured, teasing.

" Not all. I don't mind my creatures because I'm their king. I know they wouldn't ever do me any true death harm. Even consider the bite from the deadliest spider. They may bite me to let me know they disagree with something but that doesn't mean they'd dare try poison. I just can't trust other creatures. Not even people. " She eyed the food. She was hungry, and it looked wonderful to begin with. Funny how when you are hungry things look even better tasting then they actually are.
She gave a smile and slight laugh. " Oh what is this word coming to? A lady such as me wasting so much energy on such things. " She gave a dramatic sigh.

Dark shrugged. "Tippity wouldn't harm anyone. He can't. He's just acts as the doorman between my world and this one. The dormouse, he is, though it is a horrible pun." Yes, so it was a rather bad pun, but that's exactly what the odd mousey creature was. He was the Dormouse, otherwise known as Dormy, just as Dark was the King of Hearts. And both of them played important roles that was unsual compared to the ones that was first in their place.
He lifted his cup of tea, smirking at his....friend, friend-like person. Whatever this miss was. "No time to waste. Cheers!" And with that, he had the cup to his lips, enjoying the liquid as it ran down his throat. This was his one recommended restaurant. The food and beverages had to be pretty good for him to vouch.

" Sure. . . " She had to believe him. Certainly it was his pet-like thing. He must know most about him. Upon him saying cheers she slipped out of her fear and gave a smile nodding in agreement. She took the remaining cup and took a drink. She sipped just enough to taste the drink to decide if it was good or not.
Truthfully she thought it was delightful. Not that King Zar was a picky eater. She took another sip a bit bigger. The tip of her tail gave a light flip up then down, as cats tend to do when satisfied or pleased. " You know Blackie, I've not felt calm like this in a good long while. " Amazing how Zars moods changed with the snap of a finger.

Lowering his cup, his eyes found Zar once again. "Such an interesting one you are." he commented, not very clear in his meaning. The best guess would be to say that he was referring to her sudden changes in mood, which was most likely since she just went through one of her dramatic changes. "I'm glad. You seem like a person who really deserves such a time." He took a sip of his tea once more, before adding something, "Though it is such a horrific shame that you don't have such moments very often."

A small laugh and big smile came from King Zar. " Why thank you sir. You are awfully sweet to have taken me to a spot that is so special to yourself. Most people don't share such things with people unless they are close friends even. " She put a bit of honey into her drink and continued speaking while stirring, " I keep saying this, but I owe you Blackie. " She took a sip. Satisfied with the new flavor she started on the food.
Just as to be expected with royalty she ate delicately. She lightly held her food, ate without spilling a crumb, and certainly showed manners. " I really can't disagree with you. I think myself I deserve perhaps free time to have fun, but being who I am I just can't. Life isn't fair to anyone and royalty doesn't change that any Blackie. I gotta work just like anyone else. " Zar didn't seem to give up on that argument. Could be that its hammered into her mind as a child.

A half smile, that's what was offered back. "I fear I don't have a hat to tip like a gentleman would in such case, but you're welcome. I see no reason not to have shared this with you. You saved me, in giving me company when I failed to have any." So what that Dark didn't look nor often acted like he needed anyone else around him, but that wasn't the case. It was a privilege to have company other then those three that he saw every single day in life. He liked them too, they were dear friends [or enemies, either way] but one needed an extended circle too.
Dark, himself, was a little more...of the eccentric type of royalty. Yes, when he set his cup of tea down and took to the sandwiches, he had all the proper manners. But you could also compare his style to those men who managed to look oddly regal, some would say charming, while sipping on wine or something of the like. Not exactly by purpose, that was just how he was. No helping that. For more then one reason he could be compared to a vampire. "No, life isn't fair. Not to anyone. I'll give you that. You mustn't forget however, that every single person needs to take a break from work. Otherwise, they turn into nothing but miserable lifeless fools; as a candle, the better burnt out." The last of his tongue would be considered harsh slanders from more olden times.

Slowly she finished her food and went to sipping her drink. " Sometimes one needs to work in order to live Blackie. Have any advice for someone in my shoes? Let me say it this way. If you were me, in my position, what would you do? Stay in the streets working to get just enough food to feed you or live a life of royalty with work and someone you dislike? " She watched him as she sipped yet again. " You keep disagreeing with my way of life so tell me what I should do to fix it. "
