Ooc: Sorry that it took so long and that its not very good. *is getting pestered by random family members* They won't leave me alone. -_-;
It had been like any normal day, well, as far as normal days went for Rhosey. You know, the late nights working her real job then having to get up early and head over to her second job. Sometimes being the manager was a pain, especially when dealing with being shot at merely hours before hand. But it was getting later, around two in the afternoon. It had been a slow day for her, so she decided she'd take off early.
She stood up from her desk in the back room, locking her door on the way out. Though no one had visited her today, needing any information, the building was just as booming as usual. Several people of all ages were walking about, lounging around with a book, or chattering away quietly with some friends. As she walked out, she straighted out the black over shirt she was wearing, the sort that cut off just before the elbow. While working, she always wore cloths that was off from her usual. Instead of her heavy steel-toed boots and black jeans, she was wearing more dress like shoes and black dress pants. Under the over shirt, she was wearing a lime green tank top. All fairly simple. "Hey Nikki, I'm taking off." She said as she walked by a circle of counters for checkouts and such, with several workers standing behind and going about their tasks. "Already?" The female she apparently address replied. "Its slow today, no need for me to stick around. I know you can take care of things." The Gelert replied. "But I still have these to put away." The other female made a gesture to a stack of about ten to fifteen books. Rhosey sighed, secretly wishing just to get back home and finish up with cleaning one of the guest rooms. She was in charge of most of the cleaning at home, too. Her brother was useless at cleaning. "Alright, I'll take care of these for you, then I'll leave." She replied, scooping up the large stack into her arms and going off into the maze of selves.

Ooc: perfectly fine with me ^^
One of those frequent visitors, a small boy no older then 8, spent pretty much his entire life jumping from bookstore to bookstore. He tended to draw a lot of attention to himself with his loose tan pants and a rather girly sort of tan jacket. It being girly due to the fact it also was tan only with odd animal fur lining the collar and sleeve cuffs. Under his jacket he had on a plain dirty old white t-shirt. Perhaps the oddest thing about him was the once living skull he kept over his head. It hid half of his face only showing his mouth really. He was walking about the store, the tip of the skulls nose literally touching the book. Reading with the skull on himself was quite difficult unless he had his face this close. Not looking where he was going he bumped right into Rhosey. Leon gave a gasp slamming the book shut. " Oh sorry! I. . .I didn't mean to. . ." He stuttered awaiting a good smack to the head.

Rhosey had been blindly walking around the aisles not really paying attention to where she was going, something she knew better to do but was in such a rush she made the mistake. As she was moving along, reading the numbers on the books she had passed, she suddenly felt herself collide with someone. "Oh, excuse me!" She said suddenly, and then soon realizing it was a kid she'd run into. "Oh, its alright." She said in response, setting the stack of books that had mostly diminished to the side and kneeling down. While his presentation was a little odd, what with the skull and all, she didn't seemed bothered. She'd seen way too many odd things in her life to read too much into it. The appearance didn't make the person. "Are you alright?" She asked, seeming rather concerned.

" Ah! " the child flinched at her movements. After seeing he wasn't going to receive a hit the the head he calmed down enough to speak with this person he ran into. " I'll be fine! No need to worry about me. " He jumped to the ground stacking up the books he had knocked out of her hands. The kid picked them up carefully looking each one over, some getting more of his attention then others. The book he had with him was a far to complex book about the human body and how it worked. One would think it must be for someone much older.

Rhosey was silent as he went about picking up her books, simply watching him as he looked each one over. Come to think of it, she saw him around here a few times, always reading something. "If I'm not mistaken, I've seen you before." She remarked in her softer toned voice. And, while also eying the book he already had with him, which surprised her to some degree, she continued, "I'm guessing that you really like to read, right?"

He paused holding a book in his hand. " Yeah, I'm sure you have seen me here before. I come about every other day at the least. " As he spoke his hand felt the book covers texture. " Daddy is always at work, he doesn't spend time with me. He never really did though. I'm just lucky he lets me live with him and hasn't killed me yet. " He frowned setting the book in his hand on the top of the stack.

Her eyes grew wide as she took in his last sentence, 'lucky he's let me live, hasn't killed me yet.' She let it repeat in her mind a few times, simply decided something now. "I'm truly sorry." She said slowly, seeming to mean it. She didn't want to suddenly address the situation, how odd would that have been? If what he said about his father was true, well then, let's not go there, shall we? "Well, I'm Rhosey, the manager here. Considering I see you reading, what would you say your favorite book is?"
Ooc: Eh, off to class for me. I get back around two something in the afternoon. But I'm off after that for five days.

" Best if you called me Leon. " the boy smiled then thought for a while on a favorite book. He really could not pin point one certain book but rather a topic or two. " Ummm I can't say one book. I love far to many. I suppose any book about humans. You know history and how the body works. If not those I usually read about different types of magic. Like the stuff dragons and wizards have. I suppose I do like reading about the planets and stars. . ." He trailed off thinking he might have spoke a bit to much.

"Well, its a pleasure to meet you, Leon." She replied with her own smile. She listened to all he had to say, and nodded her approvement at the end. "All very interesting topics. Some of my personal favorites are in magics and celestial workings as well. Particularly things dealing in with mythical seeming subjects." She offered a bit of her own self in response, instead of asking all the questions without him asking her any. She got a little idea. "Do you have any of the books you like at home?" While her idea had nothing to do with his home, it was a question to see what books he had for himself.

" Well. . .not exactly. . ." He replied to her. " Daddy has a lot of books about dragons, demons and other creatures as well as about every book possible on runology. He lets me read them, but they are not really mine. "

Rhosey nodded again. At least her idea wasn't shot down completely. "I see. Are there any books around here that you like, er, you'd like to have, I mean?" She asked. "I wouldn't see a problem if you wanted to take a few with you to keep, if you really like them." It was sort of sad, if he loved books so much, but didn't have any of his own. And, with her being the manager, everything would be fine if she let him have a few.

Leon gave a gasp. No way she was offering him free books. " I'd love to!. . .oh but. " Though you couldn't see his eyes you could tell he was looking around the store. " I don't think daddy would let me. " still looking around Leon frowned.

Rhosey's tail flicked a few times behind her, just a bit of reaction to him seeming pleased. But she frowned as he did, before she returned to being rather cheery. "Well, its not really a problem, you can just have them. We always get new ones in anyway. Usually the workers either take them or we donate them after awhile. If you'd like, I could write notes to put it them saying they were given away." She offered. "I suppose, if there was a problem, your father could come talk to me too."

At the words 'your father could come talk to me' Leon shoved the books toward Rhosey. " Just keep them! I'm fine! I don't need books! " the poor kid shook a bit scared of what his father might do. " I really don't have the time for carrying the books home! I should just find daddy before he leaves me here. "

Rhosey held her arms out in time to catch the books shoved at her. She could tell, instantly, that he was scared using more then one source to tell. In the process of the book's return to her, her purple tinted glass fell off, revealing her somewhat eerie, pupil-less light green eyes. They actually looked almost white; and held a secret about her. She ignored this though, addressing him. "Its not my place to say, but you're father really scares you." She remarked. "If that's true, I don't see it fit for me to know and let it go." she paused. "You said that you're lucky he hasn't killed you yet...are you afraid of him coming to see me?" By the way she spoke, you could tell she was worried about him, and taking the situation seriously. She didn't see any reason not to believe him. And now she had enough proof.
