Featuring: Rhosey and Defess, plus other characters that were necessary.
Okay, well, this is a roleplay between Milli and I that we started forever ago on another site, before I really had Anthro Life up and running. Note that this roleplay is still going on as we speak, but we've broken it into something like chapters. They have a lot of odd adventures, and this follows a rather life changing event in the lives of pretty much every major character that gets involved.
Milli and I will be posting in turns, as we did while originally writing this.
Please enjoy!

At the time of pitch black the glowing white orb had just cast its light above the center of the starry sky. The time being approximately one AM in the morning. The double doors slammed open, a female with a rather tired and annoyed expression on her face. She vaguely glanced around the bar room, flashing lights shined over a dance floor, while most people were actually just sitting around, nearly falling out of their chairs from drinking too much. This Gelertess wore a rather dark appearing outfit. Black pants, black boots, a black pair of gloves, a black tank top with a small lime green bat to the right side, cut to show off her stomach and upper back, and a long black coat over it all. She sighed softly, brushing her raven colored hair from her green, nearly white eyes.
She had some sort of argument with the bartender before he slunk off with an uneasy expression and coming back again to hand her a glass similar to a teacup. The woman walked off, sipping the contents of her cup and taking a seat in an empty, circular booth in the corner of the bar. She ended up tossing a black bag with a lime green bat on the table and taking out a notebook, which she would sit and read as she contently sipped her drink. Only there was one thing that not everyone knew, the reason she looked so tried and annoyed. She just got off of work, which meant for her that she just had another life threatening experience. She was actually hiding a whip and a few daggers in her coat, but she hid them well.

he'd had his eyes on her since she walked in- there was something about that gelertess that made his eyes turn silver... but what was it? Defess took another swig of his whiskey before getting up out of his seat. his movements were slow but still fairly sharp. it wasn't until he reached her table that one could tell how intoxicated he truly was- as he bumped into the edge of it. he grabbed the table with both hands- as if it would fall if he hadn't- "woah- terribly sorry..." he said as he looked up at her again- his position pulled his nearly shoulder length dark rooted- blond hair into his face. being 5'10 didn't make it easy to lean over so far but- being that he was so tipsy- it really didn't matter. at this point he felt a slight twinge of awkwardness. but he huffed it off as he stood straight up again. he looked away for a moment- back to his place at the bar where he'd left the comfort of his stool and whiskey. he was currently in a black- button up, long sleeved shirt, jeans, and black boots. not quite his common wear- but still something he found comfortable. he let out a sigh- then attempted a whistle that came out in a wisp of mute air. he then glanced back at the female- feeling a bit stupid. he put his hands in his pockets... then with a sudden decision- he abruptly sat down... he glanced at her again.. then looked away- then he looked at a far off wall- opposite of her...then attempted to scoot a bit in her direction... one couldn't be sure why he was acting so stupidly- but - truth be told... he wasn't sure either. there was a curiosity growing in him to why he felt the soft shift in his eyes when she entered the bar... of course- by now- they'd shifted back to their common deep blue. but something was telling him to investigate.. not to mention the secondary tug in his mind that was referring to her looks. a few moments passed.. he took another scoot toward her.. then another..anndd..- just one more... he finally looked at her. and as if just to egg him on a little more- his eyes shifted color once more. he blinked to allow them to go back to their norm, "soo..."

Rhosey's eyes shifted directions slightly as the male came around. She was no longer looking at the notebook on the table, but something random on the wall ahead of her, while really her eyes, which seemed to be pools of white with the hint of green in the correct lighting, were watching Defess. She knew at the instant he came over that he had a bit too much to drink and, frankly, she wasn't exactly pleased about that fact. She lifted her teacup and began sipping the drink again, as if not to take any interest in this male. However, she did take it upon herself to allow a full glance in his direction and to allow her odd eyes to some him up a little. She sighed softly. This wasn't exactly the time she wanted to be confronted, especially not by someone she could classify as drunk. "Might I ask what you're intending?" She asked him now. Her voice would normally be fairly soft, but, at this time, it had the streak of fierceness.

defess was dumb struck for a split second- he didn't expect her to say anything.. well- in a half thought out sort of way.. but his face didn't show the surprise in the slightest. - call it his nature- but even as drunk as he was.his strict ways were still present..in a disoriented way. defess looked at rhosey- "intending? what ever do you mean by that- I'm simply an idiotic drunk..." he then mumbled to himself as he looked at his stool at the bar again- unfortunately- two drunk/burley men were now loitering there "who's here cause he had nothing better to do..." he grunted as he spoke a bit louder then intended, "i JUST wanted to ask what you had in your jacket." he said matter-of-factly..then he slurred as his eyes widened in slight embarrassment "of course- i didn't mean that in a..a..FRESH way" he said with the slip of a British accent he usually never used. he looked side long back at his place at the bar mentally trying to move the two men who now both had their stools pulled up and were laughing heartily at one another.

"Clearly." Rhosey said lightly, replying to Defess' first statement about being an idiotic drunk. Her eyes followed the direction the male of the same species' eyes. Watching the two others without any true interest. "Drunk men aren't even worth their weight in time measured in seconds." She said turning back to him. It was quite easy to see that this girl wasn't exactly fond of drinking. "And it seems you've lost your precious seat to those two." She said in a somewhat nasty tone. Showing that she was being sarcastic about the spot at the bar being valuable. To her, dirt was of higher worth. She took a light drink from her teacup style glass before speaking again, "I honestly don't think the contents of my coat are any of your concern, either. It is a little fact, people have with them what they wish and if something it is hidden then obviously it is no one's business but their own."

defess excused her harsh tones- he too had the same feelings toward drunkards- but it would be hard to explain that in his present condition. Truth be told- he was curious. and that was all- he probably would never do this again- but again, now wasn't a good time to explain all that. he chuckled softly- his white-doggish- canines showing with glee. he completely excused her out spoken thoughts toward the seat... he would be over it sooner then later and so there was no point to argue. but- that last thing she had stated was very wrong in this case. but the story behind why isn't something one should explain at such an early part of the adventure. his smile faded a bit into a solemn- knowing gaze- that trailed off somewhere distant "you're wrong about that..." suddenly- one of his long- slender- gelert ears twitched. and not a second later then that glass was heard to shatter across the ground at the bar- followed by chairs flying and a woman's scream. defess took his time to look over the commotion that had just started- a small smile still gripping his face. he felt his eyes turn silver.the two burley men that had been laughing just a few moments ago where now duking it out against one another. throwing punches and glass mugs. yelling threats to one another. defess suddenly had an urge to join in- perhaps break up the fight- or end it the old fashioned way... he chuckled. the affect that the alcohol had had on him before had already seemed to be wearing out...or was it? another mug went flying- but this time at the table the two gelerts were sitting at. -with out even a though he jump out of his seat and came to the top of the table to catch the mug- but as if playing a game of hot hands he shoved it away and back the ways it came- only to have hit a short man square in the head.the man of course was knocked out right away- if not because of the blow to the head by the mug- then by the second blow that landed face first against the hard bar table from the push of the mug. unfortunatley though- the man's buddy's weren't so KOed... three hulking men stood from their stools, cracking knuckles and grinding teeth- the more hairy one of the three spoke in a rocky voice "you're gonna be regrettin' that.." he said with a twisted smile. defess simply jumped of the table- "regretting what?" he said as he staggered a bit before getting his barings back.

As Defess spoke to Rhosey she had been reading the words jotted down in the notebook she took out from her bag in the beginning. "I am?" She asked without turning her gaze upon him. But before the male could say anything more, the commotion started up. Her eyes narrowed into a glare at the two men fighting, and she was just considering to leave. Like she wanted to deal with this after work. Of course, before she had the chance to stand up, Defess was already standing on top of there table and had blocked an object coming in her direction. She was a little grateful for that, but she could have saved herself just as easily as he. But you know, the other Gelert just had to break the glass on someone else's head. Starting even more of a fight. She sighed, frustrated about all this but she did take some interest as to how this guy, once sitting next to her, was going to handle this situation now. She watched carefully, awaiting their next actions.

defess stood- ready to fight (though his stance wouldn't have made you think that) the man that had spoken up before had looked around defess at rhosey and a deviant smile spread across his bearded face he leaned to give some orders to the boys "you take care of this git- i got the girl" the two men chuckled idiotically- then went for defess in fast rage. which defess easily dodged. "that big oaf is planning to 'take you on'." he commented to rhosey- "i trust you know how to use your weapons you've got stashed. i mean- i'd take him on too- but somthing tells me you're going to want your share.. just tell me if you need any asssatance" he laughed as he jumped back out of the way of a swing given by one of the luggs.

Just as soon as the everyone finished up there comments, Rhosey calmly sat her teacup down and put her notebook away in her bag. "You really shouldn't have asked for this." She said getting up, still in a calm manner. Despite the fact of Defess' comment about her weapons, which she sensed he had somehow knew from the beginning, she was perfectly fine. Someone else might have been shocked but oh no, not her.
As the male came at her, she jumped up, managing to maneuver around behind him. "I really don't think I'll need any weapons, or help to handle this brute." She said, taking a quick glance at Defess, before the guy turned around. "Shut up lassy, just because you can dodge doesn't mean a thing." The guy commented. She laughed lightly, before her eyes narrowed fiercely. "Ha." She did another move similar to the one before, only using the brute's shoulders as a lift to flip and stand behind him again. Before he had a chance to attack her, she moved in a quick motion to sweep his feet and cause him to stumble to the ground. During this brief break she checked to see how Defess was doing.

the two idiots continued swinging at him- but he was too swift for them. finally the opening came when they both attempted to punch him at the same time- he jumped back then whent forward on his knees and socked them both in the stomach at the same time. the two doubled over momentarily.. "is that it?" he teased as he attempted to strut around them and ended up stepping on another mug- it had spilled and the ground was slippery- defess flew. just a couple feet befor he clumsily got his balance back.. just at that same time one of the guys went at him head first- they got him! the man soveled him against a wall like a mad bull- the veins in his neck buldging.but as they hit the wall defess shoved his feet torward the wall- and pushed off as they made contact- pushing the guy on his back- defess summersaulted back to his feet- he then looked at rhosey "heh- guess you really didn't need those after all" he laughed at the guy she had fought. he then looked back at the two guys who were originally fighting.. they were now sitting there watching the action between the gelerts and the idiotic drnks. defess couldn't help but think that those two had done all that just in hopes of sothing starting.

During the process of watching Defess Rhosey was somewhat impressed. "Not bad." She said walking now to stand beside Defess and look around at the situation. Three drunk men all out on the floor, easily taken out by the pair. She scoffed. "If they really planned on attacking us, they should have been able to put up more of a fight then that." She said, glancing up to the male Gelert. She made a quick assessment of everything going on in the bar. Every single person staring at the two in shock, even the bartender. I guess that was a good thing, seeing as he was too stunned to complain about the trashed building.

Defess looked around abit more. He rubbed his neck "soo- uhh..." he jolted a hand up infront of himself- "i'm Defess." he said, his eyes going back to blue as he did so.

"Rhosey." she stated in turn, offering her gloved hand in return to his. "Pleasure to meet you, Defess." She did catch that thing about him, his color changing eyes. They were silvery colored all through the little hustle but returned to a blue hue now. She heard a light groan then, and unleashed the grip of her hand to inspect where this sound came from. It was the brute she tripped, trying to sit up again. She rolled her eyes. "Learn when to stay down." She then picked up her bag, tossing it over her shoulder, grabbed Defess' arm and dragged him across the room, stepping on the stomach of the male whom groaned. "If you ask me, we should be going before the bartender stops being so starstruck and explodes on us for trashing the place." She explained, without looking back at him.

He didn't protest-he knew full well that she was absolutley right- and thankful that the tender was still staring slack-jawed. After they left the bar he spoke up "so... I suppose this'll be it then?" he asked as he took his arm back. the night sky was a pail hue behind a mountain that was clearly blocking the moon. "I'd offer to walk you home- just to be safe, but i think not.. seeing as you can fight just fine for yourself.. and your tools serve as good back up hmm?" he said cooly as they conitued to walk - best not to loiter too close to the bar.
